Recommendation to the clubs to change their rules. D.9.1 –
Public competition
The competition „Best in Show“ (BIS) is performed in public on the
stage.
Only judges having the qualification for the corresponding hair
category may vote.
D.9.2 – For each hair category a Best in Show
Four Best in Shows are performed in an exhibition, on each day or
once for two days. For each hair category of the WCF, Longhair,
Semi-Longhair, Shorthair, Siamese-OSH a BIS is performed, if at least
15 cats are present in each category in the exhibition.
D.9.3 – Joining of categories in case of less than 15 cats
If there are less than 15 cats present in a hair category, these cats
are joined with another hair category, as follows:
Longhair with Semi-Longhair, Shorthair with Siamese/OSH.
If the number of 15 cats is not reached in one of the main
categories, when joining hair categories, the Best in Show in made
for all hair categories joined together.
D.9.4 – At least 95 points required
To be nominated for the BIS, the cat must receive „Best Variety“ or
in case of less than 3 cats present not less than 95 points according
to the standard.
A cat may also be nominated, if „Best Variety“ was awarded in another
class of age, for example when a kitten won over an adult cat,
however, the adult cat can be nominated.
Household pets may be nominated for „Best in Show Household pet“, if
they received not less than 95 points.
D.9.5 - Nomination
In each hair category each international judge may nominate on each
day of the show the following cats, which he judged on the concerned
day, for the participation in Best in Show in each hair category of
the WCF (LH, SLH, SH, SOSH):
the best adult cat male
the best adult cat female
the best neutered cat male
the best spayed cat female
the best Veteran male
the best Veteran female
the best kitten 6 – 10 months male
the best kitten 6 – 10 months female
the best kitten 3 – 6 months male
the best kitten 3 – 6 months female
the best Baby male
the best Baby female
the best litter, if there at least 3 litters present in the breed or
if all kittens of the litter received at least 95 points according to
the standard of the breed
Any other best cat according to the advice of the show manager.
Remark:
According to the decision of the organizing club judges may nominate
only one kitten 3-6 months, one kitten 6-10 months and one baby, if
they are requested to do so.
D.9.6 – Exotic Shorthair may also participate in the BIS in the
hair category Longhair
Exotic Shorthair may participate in the BIS in the hair category
Longhair upon decision of the organizing club.
D.9.7 Identification of nominated cats
Nominated cats must have an identification note indicating their
breed and colour besides their catalogue number.
D.9.8 – The judge must be licensed for the corresponding hair
category.
Each judge may participate in voting of the BIS only in these hair
categories, for which he is licensed.
D.9.9 – Voting
Judges vote secretly or openly on the stage for the Best in Show cat
amongst all cats nominated according to article D.9.5.
If a judge requires secret voting, voting will be secret.
D.9.10 – In case of equal voting the judge is drawn by lottery.
If voting is equal, the names of the judges are written on little
papers and a visitor’s child will draw one paper. The judge drawn
will decide upon the best cat.
D.9.11 – Best In Show and Best In Show Opposite Sex
The best female cat and the best male cat, which had been voted on
the stage, compete for the title „Best in Show“.
If an adult male cat (adult female cat) wins the Best in Show, the
other cat will receive the title „Best In Show Opposite Sex“. The
winner remains on stage for the Best of Best.
D.9.12 – Best In Show Alter
The same procedure applies for altered cats: Best in Show Alter and
Best in Show Alter Opposite Sex for the second place. All alters will
leave the stage after the voting.
D.9.13 – Best In Show Veteran
The same procedure applies for the Veterans: First the best male
Veteran and the best female Veteran are selected. Then both compete
for the title “Best in Show Veteran”. All veterans will leave the
stage after the voting.
D.9.14 – Best in Show Kitten 6-10 months
The same procedure applies for kittens 6-10 months: First the best
male and the best female kitten 6-10 months are selected. Then both
compete for the title „Best in Show Kitten 6-10 months“. All kittens
leave the stage after the voting.
D.9.15 – Best In Show Kitten 3-6 months
The same procedure applies for kittens 3-6 months as for kittens 6-10
months.
D.9.16 – Best in Show Baby
The same procedure applies for babies. The winner is „Best in Show
Baby“.
D.9.17 – Best in Show Litter
The judges select the best litter of the show amongst all litters
nominated for the BIS. |
